THE BUILDING

The Hougen Block is the historical name of the building built in 1932 by Dr. Otto Hougen and Dr. Ron Fisher, some of Mission’s first known dentists. Originally, aside from the Dental practice and Residential suites on the upper floor, the building housed the Pacific Stage Bus Depot at the back of the building and a restaurant on First ave.

Today, after undergoing a couple of years of renovations, the Hougen Block continues to serve a dynamic and diverse community with two storefronts and 5 residential apartments on First Ave, and a community hall named “Copper Hall”, used by multiple groups throughout the week, down on Railway Ave.

RENT COPPER HALL & THE PENNY

One of the ways that make it possible for the Hougen Block to truly be “a building that gives itself away”, is the rental of our facilities. When you rent the space, your contribution goes towards keeping all that happens within the building running. This ultimately benefits the community we aim to reach.
